Abstract
We consider Fredholm integral equations of the form f = g + Lf with weakly singular kernels (both logarithmic and algebraic). This type of equation appears in the formulation of many engineering and physics problems (see [1, p. 529]). We investigate the use of a Brakhage-like iterative technique coupled with product integration to solve numerically a variety of such equations. Several orders of magnitude of improvement were obtained for smooth solutions, but the method also worked well in the more severe cases.
