Policies for Dissertations, Master's Theses and Master's Reports

Who Can Submit

Dissertations, Master's Theses and Master's Reports only publishes materials about work conducted under the auspices of Dissertations, Master's Theses and Master's Reports. For additional information, please contact the Graduate School (gradschool@mtu.edu).

Review

The Graduate School will review submissions for formatting within six business days of a complete submission. Please check your Degree Progress Checklist or Academic Audit for your current status.

Students do not have an opportunity to approve papers they have submitted prior to them becoming publicly available on the site; therefore, please be sure that the paper is ready for public distribution.

Submissions will be released to the repository after all degrees are granted for the semester. Grace period submissions are published at the beginning of the semester, pending verification of all other degree requirements.

Rights and Permissions

Before submitting a paper to the repository, please be sure that all necessary permissions have been cleared. You retain the copyright to your paper and grant us the nonexclusive right to publish this material, meaning that you may also publish it elsewhere.

In the event that changes to the document, metadata, or access are required after the document has been accepted, please review the options and types of changes available. Please note that changing a Creative Commons license after your work has been published is problematic, as these licenses are not revocable. Read more about this on the Creative Commons FAQ.

It is necessary that you agree to the terms of publishing in the repository listed in the author agreement. The text of the agreement is below for your reference:
