Abstract
Policy innovation labs (PILs), which are a recent phenomenon, attempt to engage diverse stakeholders. The goal is discovering out-of-the-box solutions, approaches, and insights to complex policy problems. PILs are unique in their characteristics, mission, and approaches, which result in both opportunities and constraints. For our lab, the major constraint was time. Our PIL was only a week (April 25-29th, 2022) in duration. Nonetheless, we gained several critical insights.
