"Just like they do in industry": Concerns about teamwork practices in engineering design courses

Abstract

The author reports on a two-year study contrasting senior design course teaching of team practices with those actually used in industry. The study identified concerns in the areas of collaborative practices, group composition, intervention and resolution of group problems, and focus on the product rather than the process. © 1993 IEEE.
