Abstract

This paper presents a laboratory implementation of a PLC-based PID controller integrated with an Ignition Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The closed-loop control system was developed using ladder logic programming in Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000. Historical data collection, alarm management, and real-time visualization were provided through a SCADA interface built in Ignition Designer. An analog pressure sensor measured the water level in the tank and sent feedback to the PLC module, where the PID control algorithm was implemented. The controller generated an analog voltage signal to actuate a flow valve, thereby regulating the inlet water flow rate. A user-friendly SCADA web interface was designed to poll and display real-time PLC process data, including tank status, valve positions, pressure measurements, and alarm conditions.
