Abstract
This paper introduces the spectral rake filter, a novel digital filter that effectively attenuates DC and harmonics while preserving interharmonic content sufficiently for reliable detection, even when harmonics present significant frequency deviations. The proposed filter is well-suited for real-time operation in modern power grids and requires minimal computational resources. Evaluations using signals from wind and photovoltaic experimental setups, as well as challenging actual signals, demonstrate that the spectral rake filter outperforms conventional methods in detecting interharmonics under dynamic conditions. Its robust performance, combined with a simple yet efficient design, makes it an attractive solution for enhanced harmonic analysis, protection, and control in power systems with high renewable energy integration.
