Abstract
Road icing in winter will not only cause damage to the road structure, but also seriously affect driving safety. In this paper, we studied the feasibility of plant antifreeze protein (PAFP) applied for anti-icing pavement. The results of anti-icing performance test show that the PAFP modified emulsified asphalt coating can delay the icing of road surface, and the freezing time of water on PAFP modified emulsified asphalt coated pavement is twice that of ordinary pavement. At the same time, PAFP can greatly reduce the adhesion of road ice. The pavement performance test results show that the PAFP modified emulsified asphalt coating has good durability and skid resistance. To sum up, PAFP modified emulsified asphalt coating has good potential applications.
