Abstract
The reaction of 6,9-bis-(acetonitrile)decaborane, I, with amines and alcohols has been studied. The products of the reactions of n-BuNH2, (n-Bu)2NH, PhNH2, n-PrNH2, (n-Pr) 2NH, and CH3OH with I, which results in retention of the decaborane cage have been fully characterized, including the molecular strucutures of 6,9-bis-(N-di-n-butylacetamidine)decaborane and 6,9-bis-(N-phenylacetamidine)decaborane.
