Second-level trigger in the Pierre Auger Fluorescence Detector

Abstract
The developments and design of the electronics of the Pierre Auger fluorescence detector was described. The second-level trigger for the detector was implemented in VLSI Altera field programmable gate array chips. Results showed that Altera chip was a very good choice for sophisticated projects ensuring low propagation time, flexibility and sufficient capacity.
