Experimental observation of triple junction behavior during DIGM

Abstract
An unexpected phenomenon, new grain formation at triple junctions during DIGM, has been studied by transmission electron microscopy. It is suggested that this is a manifestation of the plastic deformation that occurs prior to the initiation of DIGM.
