Abstract
The conversion of CO2 to valuable compounds, which is considered as an effective approach to solve the global warming, represents a great challenge due to the high stability and low reactivity of CO2. Herein, thermodynamic calculations predicted the feasibility of exothermic reactions between CO2 and Li3N into two important solid materials-carbon nitride and lithium cyanamide. Furthermore, the feasibility was confirmed by experiments, namely, the fast reaction between CO2 and Li3N produced crystal lithium cyanamide and amorphous carbon nitrides. This provides a novel process to control CO2 emissions.
