Abstract

The aim of this paper is to develop a benchmark of realistic synthetic signals based on actual signals to reinforce the development of harmonic and inter-harmonic estimation methods. The actual signals presented harmonics, sub-harmonics, inter-harmonics, DC component, DC offset, time-varying mag-nitude of harmonics, low- and high-order harmonics, transient disturbances, and noise. Then, the synthetic signal provides all these challenging situations for supporting the development of harmonic estimation methods. Furthermore, the synthetic signals provide flexibility of readjusting the inter-harmonics magnitude for identifying the limits of harmonic estimation methods and can generate challenging scenarios in real-time. The Fourier transform was used for validating the synthetic signals.
