Abstract
It is demonstrated that measuring extinction coefficients at frequent time intervals enables one to observe fog-evolution processes in which the infrared and visible extinction coefficients are well correlated. Less-frequent measurements can lead to erroneous interpretations. © 1982 Optical Society of America.
