Abstract
Analytical soliton solutions of parametric amplification with arbitrary phase and amplitude modulation of the input signal pulse are obtained for nonzero phase mismatch. The output pulses suffer a frequency shift proportional to the phase mismatch and can be transform limited even for a chirped seed. This property allows us to obtain broadly tunable radiation by optical parametric amplification of a strongly chirped seed wave with a fixed central frequency. © 2001 Optical Society of America.
