Abstract
© 2014 by Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. To the casual observer, minimizing the flaring from a refinery or petrochemical facility may seem easy. Remember that flares are safety systems designed to protect site employees, the public, and the facility (see Chapter 11). New strategies can be applied to find costeffective methods that safely minimize if not eliminate the need for flaring.
