Abstract
The apparatus described is a model of a reflection seismic prospecting system. The observations and computations are the same as those made on commercial field records in the days before computerized data acquisition. The apparatus is used in a course in reflection seismology; others may find it useful in a physics class required for geology majors or in any class covering principles of acoustics. © 1987, American Association of Physics Teachers.
