Abstract
© 2017 IEEE. With the increasingly widespread use of embedded sensor technology within cities, there is an abundance of heterogeneous spatio-temporal data, such as vehicle trajectories, points of interests, etc. It is challenging to visualize and analyze those data for more effective urban planning. The purpose of this project is to develop SURV, a Smart URban Visualization system. SURV is a framework built using HTML and CSS along with Mapbox.js and CARTO.js JavaScript libraries to create interactive maps and dynamic visualizations. Python is also used within the system for its high-quality data processing. SURV provides a web interface where a user can interact with data animation and three-dimensional (3-D) visualizations to provide better data analysis.
