Abstract
© 2016 IEEE. Interconnection of micro-hydro power plants in isolated mini-grid system is an alternative solution to the electricity supply in the hilly region of Nepal. In the isolated mini-grids, the economic and social impacts due to loss of electricity are of primary concerns to the service provider and end users. This paper presents reliability assessment evaluation of an existing mini-grid in Nepal using loss of load expectation (LOLE) and expected energy not served (EENS). The analyses show that the LOLE are considerably lower than the average in Nepal's power system.
