Abstract
The Snyder P' measure of solvent eluting strength In bonded- phase chromatography (BPC) correlates well with the π* and δ solvatochromie parameters with no dependence on either the α hydrogen bond donor strength parameter, the molar volume, or the β hydrogen bond acceptor strength parameter. Furthermore, the correlation of P' with π* and δ is much better than the correlation of P' with ENR (energy of the electronic transition of Nile Red) which had been proposed as a measure of solvent eluting strength in BPC. © 1991, Oxford University Press.
