Abstract
© 2015 ASCE. Erosion downstream of stilling basins can lead to deep scour and potential structure failure. Experimental results presented herein show that the addition of an Extension Plate downstream of a stilling basin transferred scour downstream, away from the structure, and lessened the scour depth with respect to the scour location and depth observed without the Extension Plate.
