Three-wave interaction soliton switching in a polarization-gate geometry
It is shown,that three-wave interaction solitons can be used for optical switching in a polarization-gate geometry. This new all-optical logic gate combines the advantages of soliton switching devices with a short length of a second order nonlinear interaction. A new phase transform connecting the solutions of the three-wave interaction equations with different phase mismatch is found for systems including second-order dispersion terms. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
