Abstract
© 2018 AACC. In this paper, a geometric approach is utilized to design fault detection and identification (FDI) filters for power inverters with high order filters. The geometric approach has the advantage of providing a necessary and sufficient condition to verify the feasibility of FDI filter design, and offering a systematic procedure to design the FDI filters. The FDI filters are designed for inverter component (capacitance, inductance, and resistance) and current sensor faults. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed geometric FDI filters.
