Abstract
This article demonstrates how to use three ethnographic techniques to help students understand and appreciate behavior in organizations from an anthropological perspective. The techniques are network analysis, event analysis, and componential analysis. For each technique, the article presents the purpose for using the technique, how to do it, an example drawn from ethnographic research, and several suggestions for adapting it to the classroom. © 1993, Sage Publications.
