Abstract
This study investigates the extent to which a sample of social studies teachers, who participated in a World History and Geography professional development program five years earlier, are integrating history and geography content into their teaching practice and what influences decisions they make about curriculum and pedagogy. Through interviews, artifact collection and a questionnaire, the results suggest that participants are implementing geography content gained from participation in the professional development program into their curriculum. Additionally, results suggest that decisions made about curriculum and pedagogy are influenced by state content standards, state testing, district evaluation processes, time, resources, and personal interest.
