Abstract
An econometric study of the market for pulpwood harvested in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is presented. Spatial equilibrium conditions from a two-region theoretical model are used to develop two econometric models of pulpwood exported from the Upper Peninsula to Wisconsin. Both models are estimated using annual data. Predicted estimates of the regression coefficients are used to test the appropriateness of the two-region model. Test results fail to provide strong evidence in support of this model.
